This study provides both qualitative and quantitative analyses of macrobenthic fauna, aiming to establish an annual monitoring network and evaluate the conservation status of selected sites. The research was conducted within the framework of the national project “Development of an Integrated Management Framework for Pilot Areas in the Romanian Sector of the Danube River, Influenced by Climate Change and Anthropogenic Interventions, through the Application of Advanced Investigation Methodologies (Geophysical, Remote Sensing, Sedimentological, Morphological, Biological)” (PN 19.20.02.04).
Between May 30 and June 22 and September 20 and October 10, 2022 a total of 37 macrozoobenthos samples were analysed from the following sectors: Downstream Corabia (km 626–631), Bechet (km 674–678), Pisculeț–Desa (km 760–765), and Golenți–Cetate (km 805–811).
